The Lantern Reach

Humanity is young, loud, and underestimated — outmatched by the ancient Vey, hunted by a dying empire that calls itself the Dominion. Near the Moon, salvage pilot Mara Venn takes a restricted recovery job and finds something that should not be there.

A damaged Vey warship, hidden in lunar shadow for thousands of years. A dead crew. A single survivor. And a warning, burned into the hull, that the oldest race in the galaxy was willing to die to keep.

Vessel · Origin Unknown · Status: Damaged

The Asterion

White-gold and silent, it does not destroy like a warship. It edits. And it appears to have been waiting — not for a master, but for someone who understands broken things.

Eight known principles. One empty position.

"There is a ninth place in the system. It is empty. The Vey believe it was left unfinished. The Dominion believes it is a key. No one agrees what it is — and everyone wants it."

Ch. 20

"Not saved. Not healed. Not forgiven. But heard."

Ch. 36
